Exit planning is not just about selling a business. It’s about protecting the life behind it.
That’s what stayed with me from my conversation with Jordan Niefeld of Raymond James. He spoke about the questions many business owners don’t always want to ask until they have to: What happens if life changes? Who owns what? How does the business continue? What is the plan?
Jordan said something I thought was worth passing along: there will be a succession plan one way or another. The question is whether it’s created thoughtfully by you, or left for someone else to decide.
