Foodies like me look forward to this time of year when we celebrate Miami Spice a.k.a. two months to explore Miami’s restaurant culture. Happening now through September 30, this is your unique chance to satisfy your inner epi-curious restaurateur by trying the dishes at new and new-to-you places all at bargain lunch and dinner prices. Over 200 restaurants that encompass an entire spectrum of cuisines are participating.  You could try something new for lunch and dinner every day of the event!

It’s events like these that remind me of yet another reason why I love Miami. That’s because some of the best places to eat in the city are also the in-house restaurants of my favorite condos. Imagine, a quick elevator ride down to brings you right to YOUR neighborhood Cheers.

Here are a few of my favorites:

The Setai Residences:

Jaya at the Setai

Jaya, which means ‘victory’ in Sanskrit, honors the hotel’s first decade of successful Asian-inspired hospitality and boasts standout dishes from Thailand, Korea, Indian, China, and Japan. Have a drink at the bar, sit outside among the water pools, and embrace what Miami is all about before sitting down for supper.

The Surf Club in Bal Harbor

Each restaurant in the Surf Club is a culinary experience.

Le Sirenuse

Le Sirenuse is located in the gloriously restored ballroom and loggia of The Surf Club. It’s genuine southern Italian cuisine and high service standards make for a perfect date night.

Chef Thomas Keller’s Surf Club

Chef Thomas Keller’s Surf Club honors the location’s history of good times and grand parties with classic Continental cuisine. In my opinion, just experiencing the property ambiance is very memorable.

Amara at Paraiso Bay

Amara at Paraiso Bay is the quintessential Miami waterfront restaurant from James Beard Award-winning Chef and restaurateur, Michael Schwartz. It’s located in the newly-completed Paraiso. Amara’s waterfront atmosphere combined with modern chic décor and Michael’s cuisine is not to be missed.

Edge Steak and Bar

Edge Steak and Bar at the Four Season’s residences.  Up on the seventh floor sits this modern, farm-to-table steakhouse, where you can dig into high-quality cuts of meat and local seafood paired with creatively crafted seasonal vegetables and sides. If you are looking for a wonderful atmosphere for a business lunch, Edge consistently delivers. They always have lunch specials that are sure to tantalize your pallet.

Cantina La Veinte

Cantina La Veinte at Icon Brickel: An extensive menu of Mexican Cuisine dishes with traditional and avant-garde  techniques and recipes. If you are looking for ambiance and Mexican cuisine, this does the trick. They have an incredible tequila selection and very, very good Mexican food.

La Petite Maison

La Petite Maison in Brickell House celebrates the simplicity of light French Mediterranean and Niçoise cuisine and features exceptional pasta, seafood, and meat dishes prepared with fresh Mediterranean produce. This is one of the most special culinary experiences in Miami. The service is impeccable and truly lives up to the definition of fine dining.

Tigertail and Mary

Tigertail and Mary in Parc Grove is a lush neighborhood retreat for relaxed American cooking, also from Chef Michael Schwartz. It is the Hamptons meets the Grove vibe. There are a wonderful variety of farm-to-table dishes that are not to be missed. I have tried almost everything on the menu and all are superb!

Hungry yet?! These just a sampling of the opportunities for a Live-Eat in Miami lifestyle. Enjoy these amazing restaurants, and potentially you will find a new place to live at the same time.

Please let me know what restaurants you also love both in Spice months and the balance of the year.
