A Healthy New Year

In keeping with my New Year’s resolution of exercising and being healthy, I have gravitated to new eating experiences that offer healthier choices. Miami has incredible food concepts all over the city that touch all of your senses. Here are three of my favorites:

Astra-Wynwood

2121 NW 2nd Ave, Miami
305.573.5778
https://www.astramiami.com/

Roof top space is the rage and Astra is a superb example combining aesthetics, views and healthy Mediterranean fare. Before entering the elevator, one is greeted by butterflies on the walls. The butterfly and nature theme carries through to the restaurant a spectacular living wall.

My favorites are the Greek Salad, steak, and grilled fish. Add a glass of red wine or tequila for those antioxidants and we have a perfect meal.

Santorini by Georgios, South Beach

101 Ocean Drive
305.672.6624
https://www.santorinibygeorgios.com/

Santorini is a hidden South Beach gem; a perfect, relaxed vibe with fantastic Greek food. The owner is very hands-on and the belly dancer gives me the incentive to continue to make better food choices!

The restaurant is located in the Bentley Beach Hotel and is a favorite for locals.

Whether sitting in the restaurant enjoying the ocean breeze or pool side, both are memorable experiences.

Ayesha Indian Fine Dining- Midtown

120 Buena Vista Blvd, Miami
305.549.5237

I was pleasantly surprised that this tiny, unassuming spot in Midtown offered spectacular tastes. The combination of herbs and sauces are so aromatic.

They are known for their rice dishes, fish and curries, and we sampled them all. Their naan bread was superb. One of our favorites was the onion kulcha: nann stuffed with spiced onion.

If you are an Indian food lover, I promise you this will be a wonderfully amazing place to dine.

Eating should always be an adventure.  Miami is a culinary wonderland and with so many healthy, creative options you will never tire of the choices!
